The Role of Libraries in Supporting Agricultural Research and Innovations

Abstract

The paper discusses the role of libraries in supporting agricultural research and innovations. It starts by defining libraries and explaining how the traditional library is being transformed into digital spaces. It traces the history of writing and promotes the importance of documentation of research works for future interrogation and further research. The paper also discusses discovery in agricultural research and how documentation through the observance of the scientific proceeding of writing accelerates discoverability and access to the report of research. This also leads to the application of the research findings in solving problems of the agricultural sector. Recommendation is made towards having a good library in agricultural training institutions because of the opportunities it provides to access and explore previous research reports.
