| dc.description.abstract | The paper discusses how ICT can be used in policy-engaged research and concludes with implementation strategies for recommendations made. Conceptual clarifications of critical of terms – ICT, digital economy, youth empowerment, sustainable job creation are done, after which the main major trends and frameworks of ICT in research and society are discussed. Critical issues and challenges of the use of ICT such as aggregation, analysis, and uses of data, digitisation, and the dynamics of ICT in research are also discussed. Step-by-step engagement of ICT in research starting with the review of literature, empiricism, including identification of population, data gathering, data analysis, and interpretation of data and communication of findings are discussed with relevant illustrations. | |
